Ferry Service for Vehicles

The Steamship Authority leaves from Woods Hole, MA. and docks in Vineyard Haven year round, as well as running ferries into Oak Bluffs in the summer season. All trips take approximately 45 minutes. The Steamship Authority is also the only ferry service available year round.

Ferry Services for Passengers Only

Passenger only ferry services to Martha’s Vineyard are available seasonally from Falmouth, Hyannis, Nantucket, and New Bedford Massachusetts, Quonset Point, Rhode Island, and Montauk and New York City in New York. Most services allow pets and bicycles for an additionally fee and limited paid parking is available near all ferries. Please check individual websites for details.

Falmouth Ferry

This Falmouth, MA to Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard ferry service is a luxury fast ferry service, and the only ferry to service Edgartown.  It leaves from it’s slip at Falmouth Harbor on Cape Cod, and docks at Memorial Wharf in Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard. The service has a short season, so it is recommended that you check their schedule and make advance reservations. Trip is approximately 1 hour.

Hy-Line Ferry

The boat line operates both a fast and traditional ferry service from the Hyannis harbor, into Oak Bluffs from early May through end of Oct.   Trip is about 1hr and 40 minutes on traditional ferry, and 55 minutes on the fast ferry.

Island Queen

This is a convenient and comfortable passenger ferry service that departs from Falmouth Harbor and docks into Oak Bluffs harbor. Operates seasonally from Memorial Day to Columbus Weekend.  Trip is 35 minutes.

Martha’s Vineyard Fast Ferry

This fast ferry service runs from Quonset Point, Rhode Island to Martha’s Vineyard, and trip is 1 1/2 hours. Shuttle services are available from the Providence airport and Amtrack stations. Ferry operates Memorial weekend, through Columbus Day.

This fast ferry service takes 1 hour, from New Bedford MA and docks in Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven, operating early May through Columbus Day weekend. The company also runs a weekend only fast ferry service from NYC.
